Happy Fathers Day!

To my dad who gave me life.  Thank you for teaching me right from wrong and always being there no matter what.  I love you!

And thank you for raising a large family without any complaints.  And still growing!

To my father in law, We love you and miss you very much!  Thank you for all you did and for the wonderful man you were.

And last but not least, to my loving husband.  You are such an amazing man.  I am amazed each day of all you do and have done.  You have incredible patience and love.  I am so glad the boys have such a great example in their lives.

Man VS. Food

Das and I a few weeks before we left for New York were watching Man vs. Food. This guy does some of the most challening food stuff. This episode just happened to be in New York. So we wrote them done to make sure we tried them out. The first one we tried was an Indian restaraunt. They make the hottest dish ever with 5-7 different kinds of chilies. Of course Das has to take the challenge of eating it.

                          
He started out by mixing a ton of rice with the curry dish. I swear he mixed it around for ever before taking his first bite. He even said he was nervous. But then we saw a fifteen year old sitting next to us pass the challenge. Our waiter told us that only abou 10% actually end up finishing it.

                          

Well he was definitely hurting only after a few bites.  I couldn't help snatch all these pictures to document it.  I didn't think he was gonna make it.

  But he did it!  He kept  on going and going, and he finished!
And of course he couldn't except the free beer, but he got a mangolasi instead to sooth his mouth.  I just wish he had something to smooth the other end later on. hehe

ALMA DID IT!

After a long and hard year, Alma graduated.  He has had a lot of challenges placed before him since Pete passes away.  But has faced them all head on and conquered them.

Memorial Weekend in St. George

I'm trying to catch up on my blogging.  So many things have gone on the last couple of months.  One being our weekend in St. George with the Meyers.  We invited Rick and Ambur down to my parents condo for the weekend and it was such a great idea.  The kids all had a great time playing together, and we couldn't have asked for better company.  The first day we took the kids swimming at the condo pool.  And then to a park to play some sports and eat lunch.  After that we needed some cooling down, so we went swimming again.  Then to a pirate pizza place for dinner.  It was also my birthday and Das had them come up to sing to me.  Funny guy!

Then on Sunday we headed to Sand Hollow.  We have been there before and it is a great place to take the kids.  Rick and Ambur also brought a wave runner.  I had never been on one.  So Das took me for  a very slow ride.:)  Our boys wouldn't get on it, but all the other kids really enjoyed it.

But the kids liked to lay in it to warm up.  It is also very soft sand, so perfect to play in.

After the beach, we headed back to the condo and made some dinner.  Steve and Teresa joined us for dinner and came back for breakfast the next morning.  My mother said that that is probably the first time the dinning room table has ever been used.

Always sad when its time to clean up and come home.  Can't wait to do it again.

Happy Birthday Ashton!

Today is my baby's birthday.  I can't believe he is four years old already  This year I don't think he really decided on his own what he wanted for his bday.  His big brother Tristan was constantly whispering things in his ear.  But he seems to like everything, so that is good.  His grandparents gave him a super hero DS game, and an iron man action figure.

Tristan gave him a soccer ball.  They both seem to really like soccer and I need to get them into a league.

And Das and I got him a spider man bike.  Which I am guessing Tristan will be riding most of the time.:)

Ashton just absolutely loves his big brother.  They go everywhere together and share mostly everything.  They both are going to be such great big brothers to this baby.

For his bday, I picked up some little ceasars and met Ambur at a splash park by her house.  We had a really good time.

I LOVE our yard!

Das and the boys planting our tomato plants.  They loved helping him.  Still not sure though if the plants  are going to survive the snowfall that came a couple of weeks ago.

I am prepared to make lots of salsa this year if they do survive.  Notice the raspberry bushes and rhubarb in the back?  Not to mention all the weeds. lol  Can't see the strawberry patches, but they are there.

We knew the landscaping was good, but we are even more pleased with how it looks.

And with all of Das's hard work fertilizing and mowing, the grass is great.

I haven't had to do much planting yet, but as soon as my iris's die, I will need to do a little.  And the weeding is endless.  But we are enjoying our new home!

Our Denver Trip

It has been a while since I have had the chance to blog. Moving into the new house, weeding, and more weeding, and feeling sick have taken up a lot of time. Beside the fact we haven't gotten internet yet. I blame that on Das, since he has been traveling the last 5 weeks. He has spent more time out on the road than he has at the new house. We did have the oportunity to go with him a couple of weeks ago. We took two days and drove to Denver with him. We had a really great time!

The first night we stopped in Grand Junction.  The boys could not wait

to get to the pool.  And every day after that.  I picked me up a good book,

and while Das went to work, I took the boys to the pool and let them swim

for hours while I read.  It was very relaxing.

The next day before we drove into Denver we made a few stops.  The first was

Buffalo Bills lookout.  The boys were so curious to know how he died.  The lookout

was beautiful.  You could see for miles.

Next we stopped at Red Rock Ampetheatre.  We would love to see

a concert there someday.  If the sun wasn't going down so quickly we

would have done some hiking.  Maybe next time.

One day when Das got done with work we drove to the temple.

It was very close to where we were staying.  It was snowy and cold

but as always looked marvelous.

how wrinkly it was.  I guess five straight hours in the pool will do that to you.

Das got done with work on Thursday afternoon.  Checkout was before he was

done, so I packed up and took the kids to a movie.  I was fun getting to

spend time with the boys without having to worry about cleaning

and all that other stuff we worry about getting done.  When Das got off, we drove to

Vernal to stay the night.  In the morning we took the boys to a dinosaur museum.

We wanted to take them on the big tour they have, but it was an all day thing,

and I was beginning to feel sick.  But we really enjoyed our family trip.

We can't wait to go with him again!
