Festival of Colors!

My mother in law, Susan(who is currently in India) called Das up last week and thought it would be fun for us to check out the Hare Krishna Festival in Spanish Fork this weekend.  She used to take Das and his siblings down there when they were younger and before the temple was built.
We decided it would be a very neat thing to show the kids.  So we called up Das's siblings to get them to come.  Rama and Keli were the only ones that were able to make it.  Next year hopefully they can all come.  We really enjoyed ourselves.
We left early Saturday and got there before it got too crazy.  And it got crazy!  The moment we walked in, we had chalk thrown on us.  This I didn't expect.  But it was coming from all directions.  The boys didn't know what to think.
But as soon as Das purchased them their own bags of chalk, they couldn't get enough.
Ashton though being the clean freak he is....kept cleaning himself and the stroller off.  Then he would be right back in the bag of chalk.  Funny boy!

Das, Keli, and her friend went down into the crowd where the music was.  Rama, me and the boys stayed on top of the hill to observe.

Every two hours they do a throwing of the colors.  It was pretty dang cool to watch.  Das was in the middle of it all and came back looking like this.  He said it was hard to breath and see anything. But the chalk was also scented and the aroma filled the air.

After the throwing we indulged in some Indian food.  I must admit....it was really good.  I wasn't sure what I was eating....but I would definitely like to cook some of it up.  The boys scarfed theirs down as well.

I think people were very reluctant to throw chalk on me as soon as they saw the big belly.  But Tristan and Ashton weren't afraid of getting me.

After we ate, it was time to take off.  Logan was getting grouchy and needed his afternoon siesta.  He was out before we even left the grounds.  It was really neat for us to experience Das's roots.  His mother I am sure will be so proud that we made it.  Not ready to convert just yet though. lol  I think I will keep my current religion. But next year you will definitely be seeing us there again.

Missionary Activity

Das and I had the opportunity to participate in a young adult activity in our ward.  During church a few weeks ago they asked for volunteers to have a few of them over for dinner as part of their missionary activity.  What a neat activity they put together.  Das and I thought it would be a neat experience.  So we signed up to be France.....since Das served his mission there.  Last week the kids received their callings and we had 3 wonderful sisters come to our home to share their message with us.  Sister Mortenson, Lindsey, and Dixson arrived just as dinner was coming out of the oven.  We served chicken cord on bleu, salad with French dressing and croutons.  And for dessert....Crepes!  w/bananas, strawberries, whipping cream, and Nutella.  We moved into the family room after our meal to visit more with these young ladies.  They each shared a very sweet message with us.  I am glad Das and I were able to be involved with this activity.  We were able to get to know the girls better and Das was able to share some of his missionary experiences with them.  It was also a good experience for the boys. Maybe someday I will get to work more with the young adults.  But for now....I am loving working in the Primary with Das.

Mommy's Lucky Charms

It was really fun to have St. Patricks Day fall on a Saturday this year.  Usually I don't do to many things for the kids on this Holiday.  But since the tooth fairy forgot to come two nights in a row, I felt I needed to do something extra.

The boys were chasing leprechauns all day long.  All of their food was turned green by the sneaky little man.
We had green eggs, milk, oatmeal, fry sauce, and ramen.  And the boys were freaking out when they saw he had used their toilet and pees green.  And he left them chocolate coins hidden through out the house.
I sure am the luckiest mom alive to have such adorable boys.
The rest of the day was a relaxing one.  Das made some corn beef and cabbage for us to enjoy for dinner and we watched some Netflix.  I love lazy days.

St. Patty's Day Cooking

Das and I finally had the chance to attend the cooking class I had purchased for us on Valentines.  We were excited that it was Irish cooking.  St. Patricks Day is one of Das's favorite hollidays.  And I'll never forget it was on St. Patricks Day that Das first told me he was in love with me.  But I won't get mushy with this post.  We really enjoyed the class.  All though, we wish it had been more hands on.  But the recipes were fun and we learned a few good cooking tips.  On the menu...
Irish Soda Bread, Parsnip & Apple Soup, Irish Hunters Pie, Chocolate Shortbread, and Irish Creme Brulee.  I don't think i would ever make any of these recipes again except for on St. Patricks Day.  I am so lucky to have a husband that will attend things like this with me.  We had a really great date night.

Ready for Spring....NOW!

Saturday was such a gorgeous day.  We decided to meet up with my girlfriend Sharon at a park in Draper.  Das bought a double stroller that also attaches to his bike.  He brought that along.  Logan loves it.

Logan was excited to try the slide for his very first time.

But he wasn't so sure about it at the end. lol

Sharon's little boy Nathan is such a cutie.  The boys have lots of fun with him.
I can't believe how fast Maxwell is changing.  They grow up way to fast.
Tristan and Ashton love to climb.  I am better off not watching them, cuz I'm afraid they will fall.

But Das of course loves to encourage them.  I guess its good they aren't afraid of heights like I am.

We stayed for a couple of hours at the park and had to get home to get ready for dinner club at Ben and Heather's.  The food was so good.  I need to get the recipes.  Surprisingly, I didn't get many pictures.  The ones I got were of Kevin and Leesa during our game against them seeing which couple could catch the most marshmallows in their mouth.  Das and I lost.  It was a good laugh.  Then we had to rush out.  Logan had been sick, and we didn't want to leave him to long with the sitters.  Hopefully now that the weather is getting nicer, we won't have any colds in our house for a while.  I don't realize how much I dislike the winter until Spring comes around.  Then I can send the kids outside to play as well as get myself out in the yard.  And we excited for our trip to St.George/Vegas in a few weeks.  As well as all our other trips planned this summer.  I am glad I won't spend  my summer being pregnant.  Just fat. lol

Going to the Temple

Thursday morning we were rushing to get the kids off so we could make it to the Temple.  We were really excited.  This would be our very first sealing that we got to attend together (other than our own.)
Taylor and Paige chose the Draper Temple for their wedding.  It was such a beautiful day for a wedding.  The room was filled with loved ones, and the spirit was strong.  I am so thankful for Temples and eternal families.

After the sealing we hung out in the sun waiting for the bride and groom to emerge.  During our wait my sister Dianne passed around some chapstick for us girls to use.  A few minutes later my lips were tingling and then burning.  Turns out it was a limp plumper.  Which apprently worked the best on me and everyone kept laughing and staring. Nice!  I didn't notice much of a difference in the size.  But they sure felt funny for a while.  And then we talked about my nephew Mike above proposing to his gf.  Congrats Mike and Meagan!  So excited for you two!

Then the ravishing bride came out just glowing.  We are so excited to have Paige join our family.  She is such a joy to be around.  Thanks for letting us be a part of your perfect day.

Families can be together forever.  I am so thankful for my husband and grateful he took me to the temple so that we can be together forever.

The reception later that evening was held at "This is the Place."  It was so much fun to see everyone and to see it all come together.  Food was fantabulous and the entertainment was divine(my sister Amy and her husband).  My sister Rebecca was so thrilled to now say she has a daughter and she was proud of Taylor for the young woman he chose.

-This past week has been extremely busy for us.  I am glad it is over.  But it sure was a great week.
Wednesday night my sister in law Keli came to babysit for us while we headed downtown for my nephew Taylor's wedding dinner.  We enjoyed a delicious dinner while we watched a video my sister Rebecca put together of Taylor and Paige.  Then my very talented sister Amy performed a couple of songs with her daughter and her husband.  Followed by my nephews singing "Afternoon Delight" to the bride and groom.  It was a beautiful evening!
