I'm pretty spoiled!

I had my 29th birthday last Tuesday.  Unfortunately, I was in bed all day with the flu.  We had plans to go see a movie, but canceled.  I laid in bed and Das took care of me.  The next day I was feeling a bit better, so Das asked me if I was ready for my cake and ice cream.  Of course I was!  He and the boys sang happy birthday to me, and we dug in.  He then gave me my present which is just what I had been wanting.  A stylish Chicago Bears jersey.  Now I just need to lose some weight before football season starts.
Then on Friday, Das took me out.  He had previously lined up Keli to watch the boys, but it didn't work out with her new job.  So my nephew Taylor and his wife Paige took the boys.  We headed downtown to Gateway to eat and go see Avengers.  Thought the movie was great!  But I was so irritated with the kid behind me kicking my not comfortable seat the whole time.  But it was definitely a go see movie.  Then we went to check into our hotel at the Marriot.  We climbed into bed and ate our little treats we purchased and I fell asleep.  Tried to at least.  But it was really nice to have a night with just Das and I.  He must really love me to go to all that work of making my birthday spectacular.  Thanks babe!

Memorial Weekend

We decided to head up to our cabin this year for Memorial Day.  After we got the car all packed up, Das decided he wanted to take the bike out for a spin in remembrance of his father.  So he put on his fathers spiffy jacket, and took off.

We weren't expecting the best weather up at the cabin, but we sure didn't expect the snow either.  Luckily it didn't stick.
My sister Allison was already up there with her family and all there toys.  My nephew Taylor and his wife Paige showed up later with their toys.
The kids had a blast on them!
We'd like to get one of these little ones for the kids maybe next year.  Das took the larger ones out for a ride with my brother in law.
Taylor and me comparing our prego bellies.  I think he might be having twins. lol
The boys had so much fun with their cousins.  They didn't care how wet and muddy it was outside.  They road on the four wheelers/bikes, played by the fire pit, and shot bb guns the whole time.  We are going to have to get them some bb guns now as well.

There is a story that has been told ever since I was Tristan's age about "Old Man Jack."  I am not exactly sure how the story goes anymore, but my brother Mark has kept it alive.  And my kids are scared to death of him.  So we took them to the shack where he lives.   My brother recently purchased acres of land next to the cabin, and the shack just happens to be on his property now.  I am sure he will use that to his advantage to scare the youngins.
Monday morning Das took off with my brother in laws to golf Wasatch.  I sat around with the ladies eating and chatting.  Brad later gave Das some pointers on his swing.  Not like he needed any though.;)

As we started to pack up, the boys all wanted to get in one last ride.  We really had such a wonderful time with everyone.  You can always expect great food, company, and no sleep when spending time at the cabin.  Perfect weekend get away.  So glad we have the cabin to escape to.

Swim Swim Swim

Last week the boys begged and begged to go swimming.  Unfortunately the weather was looking poor, and not many out door pools are open yet anyway.  So I told them they could each invite a friend, and we headed over to the JL Sorenson Rec Center.
For an indoor pool, it is really great!
We will definitely be going back when the weather is bad.  Love that they have a special section that Logan had lots of fun in.

Flag Football

Tristan has two games a week for flag football.  His coach has also taken more time to do practices before his game.  Logan is all over the place, so during the practice, him and Ashton play on the play set.
Das and I have decided to take turns on Saturdays taking him.  It's just to much work for me to carry Logan and chase after him the whole time.  I'd rather sit and watch Tristan play.
He is really starting to enjoy it.  I was worried he wouldn't, but now that he knows what he is doing, he has become quite good.

My Husbands Love Affair....With His Bike

For the last couple of years, Das's motorcycle has been sitting in our garage collecting dust and has become the place the cat likes to nap.  Das tried to fix it last year, without any luck.  Finally after taking it apart, talking with my nephew, and a few YouTube videos, he was able to diagnose the problem and get it up and running.  I am extremely excited as well, all though I won't be riding it for at least another 4 weeks.  He also ordered new pipes for it to "sing."  As soon as it was running, he of course couldn't wait to get out on it.  But first he had to fill the tires up with air, and wash it.  He was so excited to get out on it, that he failed to put levis on, and burnt his leg on the exhaust pipe.  His parts came yesterday in the mail and has plans to put them on this week.  So needless to say...I probably won't see much of him this weekend.  He deserves it though!

Mothers Day

Sunday after church we headed into my mothers house for dinner.  Everyone was able to attend so we had the house filled with the greatest mothers in the world.
We sat around and enjoyed the great food prepared and each others company.  The boys had put a little gift together for their grandma with just a few of her favorite things.  My mom brought each of us back a wooden statue of Mary and Joseph from their trip to Israel.  And each of the kids something special.
We sure do love this woman!  "The only thing better than having you for a MOM is my children having you for a GRANDMA."  I talk to my mother at least once a day.  It is so hard to not talk to her when they are traveling....which is quite a lot.  So we love each of those moments we are able to visit with her.  She is my best friend and the best mother ever.  I look up to her.  Everyday I am becoming more like her, and I couldn't be happier.  Thanks for all you do Mom!

We left Tristan and Ashton at my parents house to play while we went to visit Das's mom.  We took her in a bouquet of flowers picked from our yard.  We sat an visited with her for an hour.  It was nice to see her.  She just adores Das and Logan.  I am so thankful to her for raising such an outstanding son.  We then headed home to eat up our strawberry ice cream that Das had made earlier with the ice cream maker he bought me.  It was delicious!  Looking forward to another bowl tonight.  Happy Mothers Day to all you mothers.  Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Finally slowing down....a little

This was our first Saturday in weeks that we didn't have a ton going on.  Tristan started flag football, so we started off with that.  Then I did some more planting out in the yard while Das worked on his motorcycle.  Hopefully he will have it up and running this summer.
Before we made dinner we decided to take the kids to Daybreak Lake to feed the ducks.
The ducks this year weren't as aggressive as they have been in the past.  Or maybe they had already been fed and were full.
It was such a nice day.  So glad we were able to get out and enjoy it.  I love that the lake is so close.

When we got back from the lake I noticed a big package on the kitchen table.  I of course was curious, and asked Das where it came from.  I know Das hadn't left all day and wondered how he snuck it inside without me seeing.  The boys were excited and wanted me to open it right away.  So after dinner I did.  And to my surprise, they had bought me a Cuisinart ice cream maker!  I am sooo excited.  I had just said to Das the night before that we needed one.  He had already purchased one a week before.  He is the best husband ever!  It was nice to finally have a low key Saturday.  Probably wont get another one of those for a while.
