01-01-11

Nears Years Eve was an eventful one.  We planned a sitter in the afternoon, so we could catch a movie.  We took Logan over to the theatres and saw The Fighter.  We both really enjoyed it.  And Logan slept through the whole thing. Then ouur neighborhood has a New Years Eve party every year.  Each year it is held at a different home.  And all the children go to one home to play games, so the adults can relax.  This year the party was held at President and Kris Marshalls home.  They live only two houses away.  So we took the boys across the street to the Richardson's, and headed on over.  Being our first year, we weren't sure what to expect.
As soon as we got their, everyone wanted to hold Logan.  So I took advantage, and grabbed me a plate...or two, of food.  Everyone brought something.  I really enjoyed the Cowboy salsa.  I need to get the recipe.
After eating and mingling, we headed downstairs to play some games.  The host gets to set these up.  First we played pictionary.  It was women against boys.  Those boys sure are competitive.  The themes were TV series in the 70's and 80's.  Das and I didn't know a single one, but it was still so fun to play.  And funny!  This group of people are quite the entertainers.  The men had us basically rolling on the floor laughing.  My cheeks hurt by the end of the night. And I am pretty sure the men cheat.:)

The next game was the newlywed game. Of course Das and I came really close to winning this one. This game took a long time to play, since the men made jokes on everything.  It was a riot.  After that, we then got to open our white elephant gifts.  Das and I brought a dvd we received in the hospital,"The Purple Crying."  President Marshall opened that one.  Not sure if he really got it. And our other gift(which we thought we were very funny putting this one in) was a BYU shirt that has been sitting in our closet forever.  If a U fan had of opened it, it would have been funnier.  But for a circle full of BYU fans, they all actually wanted the shirt.  Glad it could go to someone who would show it more love than us.  We also wrapped it in a baby bag....cuz Y fans are such babies.  Yeah....we think we are pretty dam funny.=)  Once we were done, we packed up to head home.  As soon as we walked outside, all the kids started banging their pots and pans to ring in the New Year.  The whole night was exciting, hilarious, entertaining, convenient, and an absolute blast!  Can't wait to do it again next year.  Thanks to such wonderful neighbors for including us into your circle.  HaPpY nEw YeAr!
