He Smiles and He Sleeps!

How can you avoid not taking pictures of this guy?!  He is such a happy baby! And such a chub!  I cant believe he just turned 7 months.  I know I say that every time, but I really can't believe how fast time goes, and how big he is getting.
His hair is so dang cute.  He gets hot and sweaty and it curls up.  When its time for Logan to take a nap, he nuzzles up against us.  It doesn't take much for him to fall asleep.  And in the morning he wakes up about the time Das leaves for work.  Das will bring him into me and Logan will cuddle in my arm and fall back asleep for another hour.  Or he'll just sit and talk while I sleep a little more.
As you can see, he loves his food.  I feed him a lot of oatmeal and prunes.  And the kid freaks out in between each bite because I don't feed him fast enough.  He will watch me from across the room while I fill a bottle up and as soon as I start walking back to him he starts shaking his arms and kicking his legs in excitement.  He has also started reaching out his arms to us when we come near. He loves to be outside and watch the kids play and love going on walks.
He loves his blankets.  If he does get a little fussy, I just put a blanket by him and he calms down.
He likes his bouncer too.  Not as much as Ashton did, but occassionally he will be quite content in it while I get some cleaning done.  The other day my sister in law asked me if he was sleeping.  Ashton used to fall asleep all the time in his bouncer....so I wasn't surprised.  But as I got a little closer, he was just checking out the cute baby in the mirror.  What a good looking little guy!

While we were down in St. George he just kept staring at something and laughing. Turns out it was this bear so Das put it next to him and Logan just hung out having a conversation with him.
He also gets so excited when Das gets home and when the boys come in the door. He must get sick of seeing me all day long. Lol. We love this little guy and enjoy every moment with him.

Glad to be an American!

So we had the option of going to the cabin over the 4th or to my parents condo in St. George, and we chose the condo since we will be going up to the cabin next weekend and the weekend after.  So we packed up our new car Friday and headed down.  It is always so nice to just wake up and not have to think about cleaning the house or yard work.  Instead....we headed to the pool.  Logan is just like his brothers and loves the water.

After swimming we headed to Target and off to Wingers to grab a late lunch.  We were all pretty tired from swimming and had a big day planned at Sand Hollow, so we went back to the condo to relax.

Around ten we put the kids down to bed, and went to climb in bed ourselves.  Ten minutes later-Refer to my previous blog-"No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed!!"  This is the light Tristan broke his head with.  He is lucky he didn't get any glass in his eyes.

And this is one spot in my parents room that he dripped blood all over.  As soon as it started gushing, I put him in the bathroom.  It was a mess!  So the doctor said he couldn't get it wet for 24 hours and no swimming until the stiches were removed.  Also to keep it covered if we were out in the sun.
But the boys had been looking forward to Sand Hollow all week, so we stopped to get Tristan a hat and told him he had to keep his head above water at all times.  He did a really good job.

We had fun soaking up the sun.  Das had purchased this shade tent a few weeks ago and it was perfect to plop Logan under.  But just as we were about to pack stuff in, the wind picked up... like crazy! Everyone's stuff went flying everywhere. . .including our tent.  By the time we caught up to it, it was destroyed.:(  We threw everything in our car and decided to call it a day.  As we are heading out, we notice several trucks getting stuck in the sand.  I started to get really worried.  So Das starts to gun it, and of course, with our luck this weekend, it gets stuck.  Luckily, Das knew what he was doing before the car got as deep as the other cars.  But we weren't out of the clear just yet.  So we all said a little prayer and hoped for the best.  And we made it out!!!
Sunday night after we got dressed, we went to Red Lobster for a tasty feast.  Das had never been before, so it was quite the treat.  After, we drove to the church parking lot to try out our fireworks.  Unfortunately, the wind hadn't let up, so we didn't get them lit.  Monday we cleaned up, and got on the road so we could get back in time to light them.  When we got home, several of our neighbors were already out, so we joined up with them.
Despite our bad luck, we had a great time as always and looking forward to going down again soon.  We hope you all had a fun and safe 4th of July weekend!

Let's go to the movies!

Last week our friends Brad and Vanessa invited us to the drivein to see Cars 2 and Pirates of the Caribean.  I had never been to the drive-in so I was excited.
Das grabbed the boys sleeping bags and we met them there.  I love the whole idea of the drive in.  The kids can run around and we don't have to worry about people getting upset.
The kids climbed back and forth between the two cars.  And then eventually ended up on the ground in front of us.

We didn't end up getting home until after 2.  We had stayed for both movies.  Only ten buck for the family for two movies.  And we could bring our own snacks.  Can't beat that~  Thanks for the invite Brad and Vanessa!

Summer is Finally Here!

My neighbors just got done putting the neatest pool in their backyard.  Last week, she invited our block over to swim and eat lunch.  It is so much fun living on our street.  We've made such great friends.  Thanks Nan and Quinn for opening up your pool for us.  We had a fantastic time!

The next day my sister in law Keli came over and we took the boys to the Lifetime pool.  The wind was blowing a little bit, but it was nice.  I can't wait to get out there Saturday with some friends while Das goes golfing.

No More Monkeys Jumping On The Bed!!!

We've all sung it before.  Two little monkeys were jumping on the bed.  One fell off and broke his head.  Mamma called the doctor and the doctor said......NO MORE MONKEYS JUMPING ON THE BED!
Last night as we were all climbing into bed down in St. George, Tristan and Ashton we goofing around.  I heard a shatter, and then Ashton say," you broke it!"  With his head!  The two monkeys were jumping on the bed.  Tristans head broke the light fixture above.  He came running in to our room all paniced that he was bleeding.  Oh boy...he was gushing blood.  After soaking 3 tissues with blood, we decided he needed stitches.  I start running around getting clothes and shoes on.  The boys had spilled water around the corner.  As I came around the corner, I slipped....flying forward, and spraining my thumb and bruising my knees.  Not a fun night for us!

When we got to the ER, they wrapped Tristans head to help with the bleeding.  It's so hard to be mad at this little guy.  I think he was punished enough and hopefully learned his lesson.  He was really nervous, but so very brave.  As they were stapling his head, he cried but didn't move at all.  Unfortunately, he can't get it wet, so our plans have changed a little.  We were planning on Sand Hollow today, but not sure if we will still go.  We may buy him a hat, and just keep a close eye on him.  He will be getting the staples removed next week by my brother in law.

His hair is just caked in  blood!  I am surprised how well I did with the blood and my son's head cracked open.  No more monkeys jumping on the bed!  Oh, and the copay for the ER was $75.00!!!!  What a night!
