Cabin Fever!

Das and I can't get enough of the cabin in the summer....and now I think we are hooked on going in the winter.  This weekend we took up our close friends, the Olsons.  Matt and Melissa brought up two adult snowmobiles, and one child snowmobile.  We got up there late Thursday afternoon.  The cabin of course was freezing.  I rode in with their oldest, Riley.  I was very impressed that he is only 12 and got me up there in one piece.  Got everything turned on and got a fire going. It was a chilly nightFriday we woke up and went outside to do some sledding.  Our cabin sits on a very large hill that is perfect for sledding down.  Matt and Das went out for a ride on the snowmobiles and then us couples went for a ride after.  We raced around in a large field and my body still hurts from the work it takes to manuever those machines.  But was so worth it.  Missy and I loved being the only girls there and watching the men do there stuff.  Saturday morning we turned our sledding hill into a luge.  Das, Matt, and Riley dug out spots and made burns for us so we didn't go into the trees.  By the end of the day we were cruising so fast that we had to bail off before we got to the end.  Missy brought up all the food....and it was delicious.  The cabin heated up real fast the next day so we started opening up windows to cool it down.  We hope to get up there again within the next month and take advantage of our bobsled worthy hill.

Before and After

Time goes by.....so slowly

Just about done with my first piece of furniture. Just need to put a gloss on top. And since my husband missed his flight.....looks like I have plenty of time to do it and to start on the next piece. lol
Griffin can't stand when no one is playing with him. He climbed into the basket while I was trying to do laundry. He is such a silly dog.
Sophie and Griffin crashed out after a rough day of playing together and the boys. The dogs have become best friends. Das and I may have to get another dog to keep Sophie entertained after Griffin goes home.

Staying busy while Das is in the UK.....

Less than 48 hours until Das gets home from the UK. We have missed him greatly. Everytime the door beeps, the boys go running to see if its him. And when we get back from school they see his car and think he is home. I have definitely stayed busy the last 11 days. Here are just two of the things that make the day go by faster....besides the kids.
My parents had some old furniture....older than me....that I asked them for. They agreed and I got some ideas from my sisters and am enjoying every minute of it. I sanded down the finish and then applied a primer. Let that dry over night and applied a baby blue. I am now in the process of of sanding down the corners and grooves for a distressed look. And when I am done with that, gonna add a brown glaze on top. Looking great so far. Post a finished pic when done.
This is my sisters dog Griffin. He is a puggle. She asked us to watch him while they went to Cancun for a week. He has been the best dog.
He loves to sleep and is quite the cuddler. And he loves to play with our yorkie. We could just do without the accidents.

HaPpY NeW YeAr!!!!!!!

New Year Day started out with Kevin making breakfast. I wouldn't know though, cuz I was still in bed. lol
The kids really seemed to enjoy their waffles. Little girl is Kevin and Leesa's oldest Gracie. Tristan sure had quite the crush on her. It was cute to see him follow her around.
Kelly and her little girl Kira. She changed her outfit every ten minutes. It was so cute. She is quite the princess. What will she do when mommy has this baby?:)
After breakfast we went over to the pool. Love having the indoor pool for the winter. Kevin and Gracie in this photo.
Joe and Kira
The Jetties....with Kelly in the backround.:)
In the evening Kelly and Leesa prepared fondue for all of us. We each had brough our own fondue makers down. They did a pesto cheese to dip bread in, and two flavored oils to cook shrimp, steak, and hotdogs in. Then they cleaned them out to do dessert. Dessert was a chocolate dip for bananas, then roll them in nuts. And a caramel dip for apples. It was tasty! We had a really great time. Hope everyone had a Happy New Year!

New Year Eve

After spending several wonderful days together it was time for our friends to meet up with us for the weekend. We ordered pizza and played games when they got there while we waited to ring in the New Year.
This year will be a great one! I am so lucky to have Das and the boys in my life. And maybe this will be the year to add to the family.:)
Because eveyone can see how much Tristan and Ashton love their dad. He has been a great dad and I am excited to see what this year holds for us.
